SONGS I LIKE DICK VAN DYKE!!

Here's a nice, fun and light album sung by none other than Dick Van Dyke. Backed by Enoch Light and orchestra and accompanied by the Ray Charles Singers, Mr.Van Dyke sings, you guessed it, songs he likes. You can just tell that he had lots of fun making this album. Even when he sings Walking and Whistlin' Blues he just has this light feel about him that makes you just feel good and camp like. Just take a look inside the gate fold of this album that I included in this post and while listening to this album, let go of all your troubles.

Songs I Like
01 NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT
02 EASY STREET
03 PUT ON A HAPPY FACE
04 WALKING AND WHISTLIN' BLUES
05 BABY WON'T YOU PLEASE COME HOME
06 ANY PLACE I HANG MY HAT IS HOME
07 AIN'T WE GOT FUN
08 THEY ALL LAUGHED
09 WIVES AND LOVERS
10 LAZYBONES
11 MY BABY JUST CARES FOR ME
12 WHEN YOU WANT 'EM
13 I'VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU
PUT ON A HAPPY FACE

THEY ALL LAUGHED

Cannot go wrong with a Command offer. But Dick Van Dyke, now that is unusual. Thanks for this share. ;O

Sue thing! By the way, How dose this post look to you? It seems to me that my album covers and play list are spread far apart from another.

Mark,
F.Y.I. I have lots more of Enoch Light on reel to reel. I haven't posted them because most of them have been previously posted on other blogs.Let me know if you're interested in any more of his stuff and I can send it to you.

Rich ... thanks for the Van Dyke lp ... always admired his versatility, not the Cockney accent though, but this was a nice surprise.

Just discovered this site and LOVE it. Thanks for the memories. Have a request. The download for PERSUASIVE PERCUSSION will not let me open tracks 6, 7 and 8. I've downloaded a second time with the same error message when trying to open those tracks. Any suggestions?

Thank You again. Will recommend this site to many friends.

Maxx,
I just downloaded everything with no problems from Rapidshare. You'll find the link at the bottom of the post.

I appreciate all the great stuff you put here and I've been inspired by you and others to contribute to the cause. I have four albums up so far--including two Command albums--that as far as I can tell are not up anywhere else and I will have more soon.

I hope this isn't bad manners to mention my own blog in your comments, but after benefiting so much from your hard work, I'd like to give a little back.

I have this record. My dad bought it new and I "appropriated" it. It's a surprisingly great record. It got played alot in our house when I was a kid. Great site, by the way. This is my first time coming. Thanks

Thanks Piltdown Man! Interesting blog you have there.

Thanks for reminding me about the blogs. I'm not all that diligent after the original idea. I just got another Command record yesterday - Tony Mottola / Roman Guitar. It's in very nice shape. I'm hoping to listen to it tonight. Do you know that one?

Very much so. Love that Command label!

Hi there,
I was checking out several links and this sites name grabbed me. Sure glad I found you had another site. And a "fantastic" one too. Had to grab this Dick Van Dyke album. I grabbed a few others..thanks for the shares. What is this with all the "Command" albums? I guess if I can break away from "Vinyl Hut Lounge" long enough I will check out who they are. Also grabbed a few pieces of artwork: "Compulsion to Swing" and "Jewels in the Sea". I love the real artwork if you can get it. These two albums I bought from iTunes.de and they came with generic artwork :-(((
Anyway, I have a request. It may not be up your line but... I saw Mamie van Doren in a movie called "Girls Town" on youtube a couple of years ago. Pretty trashy movie but Mamie was cool. Can not seem to locate any music from her during this period. Any chance you might have something?
Thank you for so "much"
Bryan
Oh, really cool hut and the guy is a killer "60's" style

This album was recorded on Nov. 22nd, 1963, the day JFK was assassinated. Dick was not very happy during the recording sessions.

Would love to download this, if it were available.
