The Avengers and Other Favourites

Well for now I've decided to go with the copy that I already have. It's at 160 kbs but sounds pretty good, I doctored it up slightly and I'm pretty happy with it until I can acquire a wav copy or the album itself. Now, you know me I really would like to get the original LP in stereo. So anyone sees one for sale for a reasonable price ($8.00 - $20.00) please let me know.

A special thanks for everyone's efforts to find this album!

Stand by! I'll be posting another Lp of my own collection this weekend as well!

An original 12-track LP was released here on Hanna-Barbera records in 1966 (as was The Avengers Theme single), which has half the songs. Here's the Discogs link:

They must have pulled the other tracks from one of their other LPs.
If you feel adventurous (and have the time), go through the other three Pye LPs at Discogs under "Laurie Johnson Orchestra" (not Laurie Johnson -- you'll get a different list for the same guy):

The other tracks should be from something else they released.

KL from NYC said...: I've been having trouble here getting the comments to go through (and had to retype them) so I forgot to mention: Back in the days when we had record stores in NYC, we used to get good Canadian pressings of all the Marble Arch reissues and they were dirt cheap ($1.98). You might want to do an "advanced search" at Gemm.com for a Canadian dealer. The postage should be about the same (it's still North America), but the LP price would probably be a lot lower.; November 23, 2013 at 11:00 PM
